Rafal Demkowicz-Dobrzanski did his master thesis ("Cloning of quantum
states") in 2003 at the faculty of physics, Warsaw University, under
the supervision of Krzysztof Wodkiewicz. In 2007 he defended his Phd ("State
estimation on correlated copies and possibilities of decorrelating quantum
states") at the Warsaw University under the supervision of Marek
Kus. Main areas of interests: quantum cloning, state estimation, multipartite
entanglement, capacities of quantum channels. |

The equivalence between the optimal state estimation and
the optimal asymptotic cloning is well known. There are, however, more
intriguing facts relating cloning with measurement and estimation theory.
I will present a hypothesis, that the holevo bound on the accesible information
of an ensemble tends to the accessible information itself once calculated
on optimal clones obtained from the ensemble, achieving equality in the
limit of infinte number of clones. I prove the hypothesis for universal
1->N cloning.
