Martin Plenio received his Diploma (1992) and PhD (1994) from the University of Goettingen. From 1995-1997 he was Feodor-Lynen fellow of the Humboldt Foundation in the Physics Department of Imperial College. He then became Lecturer (1998), Senior Lecturer (2001) and Full Professor of Quantum Physics (2003) at Imperial College. Expert of Quantum Information and Quantum Optics, popular among physicists for his studies on entanglement.

In this talk I will study entanglement properties of interacting harmonic systems.
In particular I will establish analytically a linear connection between the entanglement of a hypercube with its environment and the surface area of this hypercube.
