Abstract
In mathematical statistics the notion of statistical experiment plays a central role in formalizing concepts such as sufficiency, randomization, statistical decision procedures, asymptotic normality.
In my talk I will try to give a friendly introduction to this subject, the extension to quantum statistics, and its relevance to the quantum estimation problems.
