VITAE: Claudio Carmeli was born in November 1978.
He studied Physics at the University of Genoa.
He is currently working, as Ph.D. student, in the group of Prof. Gianni

Positive operator valued measures (POVM) are a natural generalization
of usual quantum observables (spectral measure or PVM).
Physical motivations suggest to consider those POVM covariant with respect
to a symmetry group G. It is of some interest, given a unitary representation
U of G, to classify all POVM covariant with respect to U. We give some general
results about classification and structure of covariant POVM. We present
a deeper analysis of position and momentum observables on R^n and of the
corresponding joint observables. |
